8.8.2011 - Editorial comment from the Webmaster.
On February 4th 2010 - Three representatives from PAFACE were honored to offer 30 minutes of testimony before the state subcommittee on family law. This was an open hearing about two potential house bills (463 and 1639) to help bridge the gap in making both parents equal in the state of Pennsylvania.
After PAFACE argued the points for supporting HB1639 (which passed into law in November 2010) - the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) took their allotted time to denounce fathers and promote a mother oriented (keep the current status) position. In their testimony - available online from the state - they informed the committee that "putting children in the hands of fathers are putting them in the hands of aggressors" - a direct quote. As well as male testimony of victim abuse that they referred to as "alleged".
PAFACE is a family oriented organization that assists both men and women equally. Pennsylvania Families’ and Children’s Equality has always and will always believe that "children deserve TWO FIT AND EQUAL parents" and strive for equality when it comes to family reform in PA.
HOWEVER, PAFACE took a stand and decided over the previous 12 months to dedicate themselves to promote a side of domestic violence that is often neglected and ignored by legislators, mediators, and other entities that are influential in family law reform. It was called the "Tribute to the PCADV" in regards to their SLANTED AND GENDER BIAS documented comments on 2.4.2010. In today's society/media - only a drastic fatal story of female initiated violence makes the news. Many of our members (including myself) have been on the receiving end of violence and when seeking help - law enforcement would look the other way. If anyone wants a copy of my personal police reports - please email me at FACE@PAFACE.org for the facts. In divorce - the consistent stereotype is that a man is considered a wife beater and a dead beat dad - while women don't have the same bias associated on them.
PAFACE took this stand to tell the other side of the story with a calculated risk involved. Do we drive the point home that there is another side of domestic violence that needed to be exposed and lose some members - or drive away some female supporters? Or do we remain silent and let this side of the story go untold. The PCADV fueled the fire to expose these stories with their less than educated remarks. The decision was rather easy.
We have received many emails applauding our efforts to tell these stories. And we have received a few emails that were not so pleasant. But this happens on any event that exposes an issue. We respected both sides of the argument. But the point had to be made. We created a strong stance and created a great amount of controversy.
PAFACE believes that both men and women make great parents to children. But organizations like the PCADV does not - SIMPLY to protect their own vetted interests for the groups they represent (women, law, and mediator groups). So this organization had to do what we did to preserve a father's right to be a father - and not just to be a source of income to the other parent and to the state (research TITLE 4D of the Social Security Act on how states make money from each support payment made from the non-custodial parent).
To those who found the material offensive - consider the "acts that were done" to children and NOT who the story benefits. But we did our job by creating controversy and opened up dialogue to this issue. The bottom line is that BOTH MEN AND WOMEN have the same ability to abuse, manipulate, or do acts much worse. PAFACE DOES NOT CONDONE ANY ACTS OF VIOLENCE INFLECTED ON ANY GENDER - OR EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY - CHILDREN. NEVER HAS AND NEVER WILL!
These stories will be archived and will be on the ready when the next HB comes to committee for argument when the PCADV decides to pull the same stunt! We will present to make sure legislators are made aware that domestic violence exists on both sides.
PAFACE will do everything possible to promote equal parenting rights thru work with legislators, events such as our annual bike ride from Philly to DC, our annual scholarship at Bucks County Community College, and other family oriented events. We will re-focus and expand our energy on this front. Over the next couple of weeks the content of this site will change and we look forward to more initiatives to promote equal parenting rights in PA. Over 30 states NOW have shared parenting from the start of a separation or divorce. PA still lacks the presumption of joint physical custody. That is our goal and we won’t stop until its achieved.
Regards,
The many volunteers from Pennsylvania Families’ and Children’s Equality.
5.10.2011 - The National Child Support Enforcement Agency is releasing a new course on how to train people to find you in order to pay support. This is called "GETTING BLOOD FROM A TURNIP - NEW FARMING TECHNIQUES TO INCREASE YOUR YIELD".
According to the NCSEA - they will show you "how to look under every rock, turn over every stone, and search every avenue to eventually get to the HOLY GRAIL"!
This is directed to those in the industry who help find ncp to collect support. This training session includes topics such as how to investigate social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as other outlets to find and harass you. Click Here to see the site and find out how to better protect yourself from these cut-throat people.
You can also support this by clicking on this FACEBOOK link.
5.10.2011 - The State of Ohio is being sued in a class action lawsuit for over-collecting child support and reporting those "inflated" figures to the Federal Government in order to collect more incentive payments (aka Title 4D money). Click Here for the story.
5.9.2011 - 246 stories to date for the "Tribute to the PA Coalition of Domestic Violence" - showing that there is more to what they say about domestic violence. Keep the stories coming to prove Domestic Violence is initiated by BOTH genders - not just men - as they want you to believe!
4.23.11 - NFL Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall is in a Florida hospital this morning after being stabbed repeatedly in the stomach by his wife. Michi Nogami-Marshall has been arrested for aggravated battery "WITH A DEADLY WEAPON". Click Here for the story.
And we at PAFACE wonder how the "Pennsylvania Coalition against Domestic Violence" feels now when their stance is that woman are not the aggressors, do not abuse husbands and/or children.
3.14.11 - NBA Headline - Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade gains primary custody of his children while the judge in the ruling has harsh words for the mother condemning her of parental alienation. Click Here for the story and Dwyane's passion for his children and his fight.
2.25.11 - So you want to know why as a father you have every other weekend - and no other time with your children? Want to know THE REAL REASON WHY? Federal Entitlement Programs such as Title 4D of the Social Security Act are making states rich by trampling on the rights of fathers to be with their children.
So you want to know more on Title 4D and how it works? Click Here for a great article called "The Federal Scheme to Destroy Father-Child Relationships".
After this - you will now know why you have 4 days a month under a typcial custody agreement. And Pennsylvania is one of the leading states ANNUALLY in terms of receiving Entitlement proceeds.
1.22.2011 - Front Page of today's Bucks County Courier Times shows new custody laws (AKA HB 1639) taking effect this week. Read all the reviews and voice your opinion online with the article. Click Here to read the article on Phillyburbs.com

12.19.10 - Here is the first in a 3-part series the Bucks County Courier Times is doing on Children and Youth cases / Family Court. Children and Youth Court Judge Robert Mellon shows this side of being a judge to make tough decisions. Judge Mellon uses common sense at times rather than going by the letter of the law. He has vowed not to be a "rubber stamp" to Children and Youth services - but rather look truly at the best interest of the children.
PAFACE solutes the Honorable Judge Robert Mellon for using such decision making skills to keep children together with parents instead of ripping them out of parents hands.

9.28.10 - Thank you to making the "Tribute to the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence" one of the top read pages on our site. Our page read counts keep climbing as more stories are added on daily. We continue to look for the heartbreaking and gutwrenching stories of abuse and neglect against children initiated and completed by moms because the PCADV believes that only dads abuse children (testimony on February 4th 2010 at the State Sub-Committee Hearings for Family Law Reform in Pennsylvania). If you have any stories that are not listed and would like to share - please send an email to face@paface.org.
